A while back there was a thread concerning a catalog that NAPA has with engine parts ie: valves by sizes rather than application, does anyone out there know the name of this catalog when I asked the local NAPA I got a reaction very much like a mule staring at a new gate!
Thanks!!! Denny |

Denny-When I worked in a auto parts store many years ago (long before computer catalogues) they were called progressive size charts. It could be that in the modern computer age they don't exist anymore. I would suggest that you find a good automotive machine shop and ask there as they would have more use for such a list.

Denny: I mentioned the NAPA books a while back. I am the mechanic for a fair sized construction company, and spend thousands of $s yearly at NAPA, so they work with me a lot, and I do get special favors. The books do exhist, as I am looking at a pile of them right now, so here goes. The book SPEC-3N (May 1995)shows the NAPA numbers for valves by size, it then has valve springs, and inserts, pushrods, valve guides, valve seats, expansion plugs, piston pins, piston pin bushings, pistons, and cylinder sleves; all in progressive sizes, and all with NAPA part numbers.
Weatherly index 020 Catalog no. PR-020-98 is a Perfect Circle book used by NAPA, listing piston rings in progressive sizes. Hope this helps. If you are looking for a specific item by size contact me via E-mail and allow me a couple of days. I will see what I can do. |
