Default Maytag Model 92M Muffler Adapter

I just finished up my first Maytag.
I wanted to put a muffler on it, so I fabricated this adapter.
I used the engine exhaust flange as a template and made a matching
flange out of 1/4" thick flat stock. Drilled the holes first, then rough cut it
out in a diamond shape. Then I finished the shape on a bench grinder.
I picked up a 3/4" merchant coupler for $1.10 and welded it to the flange.

I ended up with this.

It doesn't look too bad for being made with a drill press and grinder, and it
sounds OK. Here's a link to a video of it running if anyone is interested.

I still need the pulley and decals. Watching eBay again, or is that still???

Great job,Rick.Kinda inspires me to try my hand at welding.I have a mig welder but i've only 'played' with it a couple of times and ended up burning through a gas tank! But i guess tanks aren't made to be welded!LOL!
I bought a repro maytag ball tye muffler on ebay for my 92 so i would imagine you could find the pulley you are looking for on ebay.

Trust me Scott, I'm a much better machinist than a welder.
My welder is a little 110 Volt flux core. There is as much, if not more,
grinding time in my welds as there is welding time. But with practice and
pacience you will end up with good results. The real welders at
the shop I work for tell me: "Push the puddle, keep it steady and even"
I'm working on it...
