Default First Maytag runs!

Hello, i just completed my first restoration on a model 92 Maytag and it actually runs great. My question is, why is the carb tag model number stamped 31 ? Was this engine for a specific use? Thanks for any reponses-Doug

The Model 31 refers to the washing machine.
Maytag did not have separate model numbers for the engines, they were always called Multimotors. I have a Maytag service manual that shows all the washing machine models and serial numbers over the years.
The link http://www.maytagclub.com/
has a basic list of the washing machine models with illustrations
