Question Help in finding model engine plans

Anyone have ideas where to get old model engine blueprints? I try to buy them when I can, but I know a lot of models that are no longer available, so the plans are also difficult to find. For example, I have a set of plans for the Breisch/Peters Associated engine, but would love to get the rest, such as the Olds, and the Little Brother's. Since the patterns and such have been dispersed, it is a challenge.

I am looking for plans for my personal use/collection, not to resell. I just don't want all these plans and prints lost, so I'm trying to do my part. What I am doing with them is having them reduced in size so that I can digitize them and save them in the computer. I have several old sets of plans on paper that is disintergrating-so I digitized them to save them.

Hopefully someday I'll have the time to build the engines I do have plans for, but also am trying to archive them so they won't be lost. Many people have spent a lot of time developing plans for old models, yet all that work has been lost. I mean, look at some of the older model magazines and see what you could get. When's the last time you saw a set of plans for Ervin's Engine? (I did manage to chase down a set of them, however)

Anyway, I just want a copy to have for my use, so if anyone has a set and doesn't mind me making a copy, let me know. Am also willing to buy them outright (if I can afford them).

I feel like if I post on Harry's ads, it might not be too successful, because not too many models cross the ads, so not many modelmakers are looking. I would appreciate anyone's help. How do y'all think is the best way for me to find and get these plans? Again, I am just trying to save this stuff from being lost....can you imagine what this hobby would be like if we still had all the engine information such as serial numbers and the like from all manufacturers?

We have already talked and I think it would be nice to have someplace where copys of prints can be had for those occational times when a kit is sold without any prints. You have my full support.

If anybody cares, I've got an extra set of plans here for the Tochtrop Economy (aka "American Beauty")-- brand new, rolled up in a tube. -- I got them because I had a customer who said he wanted to study the plans before he decided to buy the castings (If someone buys the plans then later decides to buy the kit we just deduct the cost of the plans they already have from the kit price) -- but then he decided he didn't want to pay for the plans, either.

The asking price for the set is $40

I can also get the plans for all the PM Research and Stuart Models engine kits - IIRC the PMR plans run about $5 a page, the Stuart Models ones a bit more. Neither company is in any real danger of disappearing anytime soon, though.

I posted this on the wrong thread the other day. I've got a set of the prints to the Lil Brother. You are more than welcome to copy them, I do need them back as I haven't built the engine yet.

I am interested in your set of plans for a model Economy. I have castings marked Torchtrop on inside of the hopper. If we are talking about the same thing, please reply.

The Breisch Olds prints are available on Ebay, I believe "WhizzerKid" sells them (I bought a copy from him). I believe that he has other sets also.

"WhizzerKid", who occasionally has plans for sale on eBay is Ron Colonna, a well respected model engineer.
