6 Volt or !2 Volt Battery?


Hi, I just got a old Lincwedler/Generator and it didn't have the batteries.... Does anyone know...

Default 6 Volt or !2 Volt Battery?

Hi, I just got a old Lincwedler/Generator and it didn't have the batteries.... Does anyone know what system it is set up for? Is it 2- 12 Volt batterys or a 2 6 Volt batteries?
Boy any help would be much apprreciated

Try contacting Lincoln with you model number and ask if they still have info on your welder. A few years back I was able to get a wiring diagram for my OLD DC 180 powered by a THD Wisconsin. The only electrics on this old welder is ths mag and the generator for the welding current.
Or you might, if you think it was originally 2 6 volt batteries try one 12 volt. One 12 volt is the same as 2 6 volts connected in series. If the one 12 volt does not work it must have used 2.

If its a 225 3as, it will use 2 12 volt batterries in series to create 24 volts. this is used to motor the generator & start the engine.

Hi BD, my son-in-law just swapped from acetylene to profane ,mainly to get away from the $130+ a year rental, also you can get your profane at any servo. Got to buy different tips (mixers) for the hand piece but it makes a beautiful cut, bit hard to light in the wind but ya, I'd go for it if you are cutting and heating only, you cannot weld with it.
