They usually come out pretty easy. Doesn't look like any rust on yours, probably just some gunk or carbon holding it tight. Try twisting a little while prying onder the body, if that doesn't work a ten pound sledge should do the job.

I have a thermoil diesel and I read to loosen ,( don"t remove) the bolts or clamp that hold the injector in place. Then spin it over and close the compression release. The compression was supposed to blow it loose. This is assuming the engine isn't
stuck. If it isn't,you might try belting it up to something bigger and try the above approach.Good luck !

Stan:

I don't remember what year your engine was, but assuming it isn't a water-cooled injector (early CS engines) then it is probably just water running inside the rocker cover and sticking the injector to the head with rust.

Don't knock it, take out the retaining studs and get a large parallel jaw adjustable on the main body and give it a working backwards and forwards until it comes free. A liberal dose of diesel or penetrating oil during this excercise would be good.

Make sure you get the copper washer out underneath the injector at the bottom of the hole.

If by chance you have an early water-cooled injector, them it could be a long battle as the injector body is in contact with the coolant and does get rusty and oversized to pull out.

I think from your email that yours was a later engine?

Then you're safe, the water-cooled injectors went out in the engines around s/n 14000 or so.
