old power saw


not sure if this is proper forum? but here goes.friend of mine has what he calls a ''sally saw''...

Question old power saw

not sure if this is proper forum? but here goes.friend of mine has what he calls a ''sally saw'' haven't seen it yet.desciibed as a type of power saw with a round blade driven from center with inner blade being like gear and outside with circuliar saw teeth.anybody ever here or seen one? wiil try to get some pics in near future

Somewhere in the past I've seen pictures of Sally saws but have never seen one myself. You might try contacting Mike Acres at the Chain Saw Collectors Corner website. Quite sure he would be able to provide info on them.

I've seen one at a show in central PA. At least here in the east they're kind of rare. I don't remember seeing any for sale. I suspect one would bring several hundred dollars at an auction.

I think I have a picture of the one I saw but it's at home on a disk. I'll try to remember to look it up and post it here.

Thanks for the photo Leonard!! Now I realize what they are, I've seen them at the shows around here but never heard that name used for them. Most that I've seen were Lauson powered.
