Edwin: I have a Hopper Cooled Redwing and it starts easily, and runs as smooth as can be. Thinking about an A/C'd one, but haven't talked my self into it yet.

I've heard that, in general the Redwings are good running models. OTOH There is a finished, unpainted aircooled one on evilBay right now. Guy claims it won't run more than a few seconds at a time.

Allen: I was watching it and it didn't meet the reserve. Then it was relisted and sold for $1,400 with the seller ending the auction early to the under bidder . I guess the under bidder talked him into selling it instead of letting the auction run a bit longer . Such is eBay..... OH WELL

Yes, the Redwings run very well. Mine starts on a crank or two and operates very smooth compaired to some other models I have. However, I did not use the 'as drawn' ignition system. It seemed kinda cheezy to me and cluttered things up.
