Hello Jesse,

I think it may be a tool that one fills with oil, screws into a threaded hole for a grease fitting then strikes with a hammer to relieve the stopped up lube area. Never saw a threaded on before sound like a good way to break the threaded portion off in the hole

Beats me Jesse? However I have in the past used the online Canadian and American Patent Office database to research items of interest. Recently I rebuilt an old windmill gear box and found more information on it than I needed. All you need is the manufactures' name or patent number. There is a wealth of info there.
