Photo Lorain TL-25K Crane w/ CAT D-315 engine

I have an old Lorain tracked crawler outfitted as a dragline sitting down in
Deming, New Mexico. This unit was factory equipped with a Caterpillar diesel
D-315 engine, the same engine used in the D4-7U I believe.

This is a large piece of equipment and has a 50 foot boom on it so hauling it
is a non-trivial effort. I'm looking for a new home for this unit and have now
offered it at scrap metal priceing.

Anyone interested in taking on a big project like this? The engine was last
turned over about a year and a half ago. (Diesel is started with a gas "Pony"
engine.)

Photo available on request.

I sure wish you were close to Ohio. I would love to have that machine. It was built about 10 miles from where I live.

Might be worth posting this to the ACMOC (Antique Caterpillar Machinery Owners Club) site:

(I can do it for you as I am a member, if you cannot do it yourself)

I have access to one you would like even better....a 41 Northwest with a MP 11 Murphy. If I could figure out how to attach a photo I would.

Ok Wittes, testing my new photo upload skills on you. Lorains and the D-315's were ok, but nothing before torque convertors could stay with the bigger clutches and the lugging power of the Murphy....down to the last power stroke before stalling. The offroad dump truck was made from a used school bus chassis with 9.0 L V-8 International engine.
