Stabilizing Jacks...What to use?

On my trailer I want to add stabilizing jacks.

What do you use and how are they mounted?

Pictures would be great.

What does this trailer do/haul? How large is it? How much weight are you wanting to stabilize??

The crank up jacks found on farm equipment attach over a welded pipe with position holes for transport or down.. The other style I have seen use square shoulder U bolts and clamp around the box or C- channel frame.
Another type has a square ram and the pivot mount can be bolted to the frame or U bolted. TSC, RKO, Harbor Freight or other farm related supply stores carry them for less $ than the farm equipment dealors. hope this helps.. Randy Hart Ohio

I went to a junk yard, and bought several screw type jacks from a Nissan car. They attach to the channel iron frame on the trailer, and are cranked up by means of a bellcrank. 1 Crank can operate all 4 jacks. Total cost - $10

Well I dont have any pictures of what we use for stabilizing our trailers, but simply put its 2 pieces of heavy wall square tubing, I believe the outside one is 2 1/2 inches and the inside slides in and out freely. These are welded front and back of the trailer on each corner on about a 22 degree angle or so , the inside tube has holes drilled in it about every inch or so for adjustment and we simply lift the trailer up with a screw jack like used on the tongue of trailers, set the stands at a height which leaves the tires almost off the ground,insert the pins in the stands, place some 2 inch thick oak plank pieces about a foot square under the legs and let it down on the stands. trailer has never moved on us yet.
