Default GMC king pins and tires

I have a 1949 GMC flatbed truck with a 228 engine in it (we think) and it has 18x700 wheels/tires with a 6.5 bolt pattern, the valve cover is 27 in. long it needs new king pins and tires which we can not find any where. If you know where any of these parts are and also how rare of truck is this and how much is it worth? It also has the factory rotted wood bed.
thanks

Your truck isn't all that rare. The tire size you have is hard to come by. You may have to check out a few tire stores, they'll have to order them in for you, but be prepared to pay for them!!!! They won't be cheap!
I'm surprised that the king pins are hard to find. There's enough of those ol' babies still around. I'm assuming you've been to NAPA, or some other national parts store.
Somebody who knows more than me (and there are many, believe me! ) will hop on here and point you in the right direction.

what about finding push rods for it, we went to every place in all of spokane and all the companies in spokane trying to find those 13 in push rods and they called back east for us and they did not have any eathier so what i can find is that their is no place to buy parts for the motor anyway, and those tires are expensive!

Chris, I think Patrick's in Casa Grande, Arizona, will have the push rods, and can probably give you a source for the king pins. Phone 520-836-1117. Antique Auto Supply, in Arlington, TX. Phone 817-275-2381 may have pushrods, king pins or other parts.

Rare Parts 1-800-621-2005 has you king pins part#30103. As far as the box goes there are patterns and oak wood kits at most every speicailty supplier for that truck. The step side box you have I think, OH that hurt, runs 46 to 67 or so that one is easy. Tires- hold on to your wallet. I just can not remember the daimeter of the center hole of that 8 lug wheel and a bit of measuring will put you into a set of later model tubeless wheel and tires so you can safely drive it. Oh yea, retail on the pin set is about $50.00 -Pete, have a great day!

Chris,

When you do the kingpins, you will also need to align ream the bushings. I think I have the reamer you will need for that truck on the shelf in my shop. If not, I can certainly get you one.
