I have an Epson stylus PHOTO RX 600. It used to work sometimes, sort of. I could print a picture from my computer, sometimes, and print articles from websites, sometimes, and scan pictures, text, or objects into my computer. Now it just makes lots of noise and slowly cycles paper through when it feels like it. It takes half a day for it to tell me that an item didn't print or whatever, which I already know by the blank sheet of paper that it grudgingly spits at me after about a half hour of industrious cacophony. The damned thing sounds like a garbage grinder with a cat in it. I don't know if the machine is the problem or if I'm just too dumb to follow the instuction book, which is the size of the Houston phone book.

Patrick.....my Epson 785EPX is about 4 years old and it's wonderful printer.
My el cheapo Canon I350 (which I LOVE) is a about 3 years old and RIGHT AFTER getting the latest M$ updates NEITHER printer worked........
That CAN'T be a coincidence.................and I DID talk (yes....actually TALKED....... ) to Microsoft about their buggy update.

Microsoft has had alot of bad updates lately, another one is an update for realtek sound drivers that is kicking up errors on alot of computers...you would think after all the years they have been in the software business, they should be able to get it right by now.

I have a HP printer. I had a difficult time getting it to work at all. Finally got it working half of the time. There were times when it would'nt print and I gave up. Then at a later time it would start printing everything that I had wanted before. I found that when I want a print , if it does'nt print right away , I turn the printer off for about 30 seconds , then when I turn it back on it prints just fine. Another thing that I found is that when I print a picture from Email or ebay , it comes out about 1/4 page size. However if I save the picture to a file , then print from the file the picture comes out full page size. Don't ask me why ,I just know that it works. Try it and see if it works for you. Ron

That's a spooling issue and a complicated one at that.
When you run into issues like that the best thing you can do is uninstall the printer and start from square one.
Another issue for those using USB printers is Windows will automatically look at the LPT1 port for the printer.........which of course is where it ISN'T......
Go into Device Manager, disable the LPT1 port and life will get easier.......
NOW reinstall your printer and things should work as they should....

I don't know if you're just lucky or WHAT but IMMEDIATELY after installing the last updates neither printer on either computer would work.
Hmmmmmm..........was I the ONLY who had this problem?.....
