Hello, We just bought a International horse drawn manure speader today and i`m trying to find some info on it. It looks very simialer to a No 6, but the rear beaters look more like a No 4 basing it on what it showed in the 150 years of International. I`m woundering did they make a No 5 and if so does anybody have a picture of one and i`m also woundering what the paint scene was. This is the first time we have ever bought a manure speader, so this is all new. Any info is really appreciated. Thanks Dave

You are going to need 3 colors of paint for sure: Blue Yellow & Red. We had one when I was a kid. It went to an Amish farmer. It was in good shape. I need to think how the wheels were painted. I think yellow with blue hubs. John

I think the paint is more a cream than yellow although it might darken with age the one I saw looked more like red white and blue but the white was a creamy white.

Well, I finaly got it home yesterday and in the barn. I haven`t had a chance to really go over it, but i did take a rear shield off and it had red paint on the wood underneath. I also found what looked like green paint on a casting towards the rear of the speader, but its posible that it was blue in its younger days. I did find the remains of a decal, but its a little to faided to make much out of it.I did notice in the 150 Years of International that one version of the No6 had what looked like real light colored paint for the wood on the sides and in another picture of a No6 that the sides appeared to be a much darker color. John and Andy i realy appreciate your input and if you can think of anything more please let me know. I just want to do this one right and if anybody has a picture of a No5, i would realy like to see it. Thanks Dave
