If you are looking to build a "model" of an alternator using alternator parts that would mean that the "model" would be the same size as the original alternator. Why wouldn't you just use the full sized alternator? They make model generators for miniature engines. (PM Research) What size are you talking about?

What I'm looking for is the casting kit that I've seen that was made to except
the stator and rotor from a 10SI Delco Automobile alternator that when assembled looks like a giant power house generator.

Although it is not exactly what you are looking for, Richard Williams sells a casting that will accept an alternator from a Honda motorcycle. The finished product makes a convincing model of an old-fashioned open-frame powerhouse alternator.

The picture is small, but you can get an idea of what it looks like, here:

There is an excellent picture of one on this page:

The one built by Gordon Williamson uses a stator from a Ceiling fan rather than a alternator stator.

Ooops, my bad. Thank you for the correction, Kelly. At one time I had heard it was built out of a ceiling fan, but in the excitement of the moment it slipped my mind.

Best regards,

Orrin

So is there such a thing as a kit that makes a old generator looking device out of a Si10 alternator? Read the first post and got all interested as I have a 1 1/2 NOVO that is labeled Dynaco Electric Plant. I've just got the engine and not the generator that went with it. I do have a picture of what it would look like and I keep thinking that I should make something up that looks like the original but has a Si10 inside of it.
