Will someone here be kind enough to explain just what the Weatherly Index is on car-truck-tractor etc parts catalogs?? I've always assumed it was some kind of organization, but I can't find anything on the web that explains what it is, or was, or does, or did, or if it's still doing whatever it was that it did...if it ever did anything, that is...but it must've done something...so will someone please help me before I hurt myself?? Any comments (other than to get a life!) appreciated. Many thxx!!

Bud, the Weatherly Index is an orgainizing system. It was my understanding that it was to arrange all the catalogs in a uniform sequence in all parts stores. It makes it easier for parts people go from one store to another without having to learn a new arrangment, also was helpful when replacing old catalogs with new ones. PT
