wisconsin troublehi guys i have a wisconsin au 4 i need help timing it had it running and the mag quit i pulled it...this thread has 1 replies and has been viewed 953 times

hi guys i have a wisconsin au 4 i need help timing it had it running and the mag quit i pulled it off got it working but by axadent turned the engine over now i cant figure the #1 cy and how to time the 2 to gether i didnt move the wires so thats fine the mag runs ccw and the fireing order is 1342

The #1 cylinder is the one just behind the cooling fan.
We assume the plug wires are in the right towers of the mag. Remove the #1 plug and hook the wire back to it and lay it on the block. Slowly turn the engine just until, when the mag clicks, the plug fires. Without allowing the mag shaft to turn, remove the bolts from the mag and slip it back to disengage the coupling. With the mag disengaged, put your thumb in the #1 plug hole and slowly turn the engine until you feel pressure (NOT suction) on your thumb. Now, put a piece of wire down the plug hole so one end sits on top of the piston and turn the engine slowly until the piston is at the top. Now, the mag coupling should be either aligned with the mag or very close. Engage the coupling and tighten the mag down. You should be good to go. Take care - Elden
