Just to let you know that I have moved full time to Firefox for a web browser.
Bill Gates' Internet Explorer had gotten just a bit too demanding when I recently tried to update it, wanting to install things that I didn't need or care for. I was using IE6 and didn't like the yuppified looks of IE7. Also, more and more commercial sites were trying to update my Office products with their popup crap. NO MORE. I had a trial version of Firefox already on board for making sure Smokstak and Enginads worked on their browser. It was an easy move to upgrade and set Firefox to be my primary browser. I kike it! http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/ Edit: Follow-up one week later... It's great! |

Yup. I been using Firefox for sometime. I too like it. Especially the tabs and pop up blocker. Some sites want to require me to use IE. I just do not patronize them.

I've been using the OPERA browser for years.
The latest versions are very IE like and as far as I KNOW work exactly like IE, is WAY faster and more secure. The only thing that doesn't work in Opera is MS updates. Other benefits are it's not a memory hog, VERY fast, caches pages much differently than IE and when you clear the history and drivel it's GONE.........period. I tried IE 7 for 2 weeks before I dumped it.........

Hi harry (and all the other people here),
Your right IE 7 is a night mare and I have it seen systems crash and get bogged down with adware crap. I use fire fox and IE6 and that’s a way better choice then IE 7. IE 7 is now having the same problems as the office package of microsoft. They ad more and more stuff but 99.99% of the people and company’s alike don’t need any of it. the 0.01% that do need is mainly the adware and virus nasty’s. Start to like my cd-rom version Linux better to. It don’t need any installing and it has good internet access and doesn’t use the hard drive at all. If people are interested pleas holler ![]() My 2 ˝ cent’s, NorK

I have been using the mozilla browsers for some 4 yrs or better now, ever since all the messups in I.E.6....even taunted with Linux for a while, still actually have one system with Linux on it and it runs much better then my XP system and doesn't have the errors and garbage windows has..maybe thats why IBM bought Redhat linux for their operating systems....tired of the Gates Syndrom..!!

We mainly use Opera, have done for many years, but have Firefox for Gmail and IE6 for the occasional site which won't work with anything else.
Ebay is one site that causes problems in Opera, updating sale pages is a real problem with the new system they introduced earlier this year so we use IE6 for that. IE7 won't run in Win2kPro (I am told by Microsoft) so IE6 is as far as we will go. Peter |

Firefox users can install a plug-in called 'User Agent Switcher' that mimics a different browser when visiting pages that require a certain browser. Of course the page may contain some aspects that wont work properly but you wont be shut out like before.
