IHC 1/4 scale 4 hp Famous screencooled model


Hello i need to know one thing and that is how much movement does the collar thats onthe crank...

Question IHC 1/4 scale 4 hp Famous screencooled model

Hello i need to know one thing and that is how much movement does the collar thats onthe crank shaft thats governs the speed.i need someone to get a feeler guage and check theres and let me know.mine has very little movement and it was from poor shipping.I think the one flywheel got pushd futher up the crank when it was shipped to me.I havent tried to start it yet but know the space for the governor collar doesnt have enough movement.Can someone please help me?????

I am not familiar with the model you have but I have made several scratch built Famous models with hit and miss governors and usually give the sleeve to flywheel about 1/4 inch travel and adjust it by moving the flywheel in or out. I don't think the clearance is too critical as long as it is enough to allow the governor to latch and unlatch to control the speed.

David thanks,i need to move the flywheel out.Im sure i was bumped when shipping.These are the IHC models that were offered in hopper or tank cooled they also were available with a IHC horse drawn cart.they are a 1/4 scale of a 4 hp IHC Famous,thanks for your input.

I do not think you need 1/4 inch. My engine has maybe .125-150 for side play. The catch and the pivit pin placement are just as important. Capt,n

I been looking for 1/4 scale IHC 4hp casting for longtime, where can I get it?
