Question Trailer shopping

Hello
I am trying to figure out what type of trailer I should look for that could handle our hauling needs.

Tow vehical: 2000 GMC serria crew, 1 ton dually, 454 motor, 4x4, has a heavy duty trailer brake set up for dual wheels tandem axle, max tow capacity is 14,000.

Trailer thoughts: 5th wheel or goose neck, no less than 20' deck & at least 3' tail, thinking deck over wheels.

We have 2 tractors now but more than likley to get more & some day a small steam engine(12hp or smaller).

Any ideas?

Thank you.

Default Re: Trailer shopping

ED.
whatever you get will end up too small.
i have a 16 ft bumper trailer and a 40 ft 3 axle gooseneck with the deck over the wheels, wish it was lower. have pulled 28,000 ( 7000# TRLR & 21000# steamer) with a 78 dually, but too much weight on truck axle.
BOTH are too small.
lower is much easier to load & 24 ft would be a better choice.
