Default Stakrs picture taken today at Pinckneyville, Illinois

Here's a picture of some Stakrs that were at Pinckneyville, Illinois today.

From left to right in front row. Gene George, Delco Don, Ron Brown
From left to right in back row. Dick Bauer, Jim White, Gary Bahre, (can't remember name) Michael McCracken, Tom Janson, Dick Brown.

The second picture is of our famous or infamous photographer Steve Barr and his dad. I understood Steve wouldn't be there, but Friday morning, or was it Thursday. Well anyway, I went over to visit with his dad (sorry I can't remember his name either) and there Steve was. He said he was going to leave around 11:00 AM for Baraboo, but I saw him lurking around at 1:00 PM. I guess he drove all day to get to Baraboo. Steve doesn't often get in a picture, because hes usually taking it.

Here's a couple more pictures taken at Pinckneyville, Illinois.

For those of you who didn't make it or couldn't make it, here is a picture of (I think) a 40-60 Case Cross Motor. The man standing behind the front wheel gives you an idea of the size of it. The drive wheels measured 6' and the front wheels were 4'.

The second picture shows a line up of just some of the steam engines that were there. I think there were some where around 18 steam engines on the grounds at one time or another. Two 110 HP Case steamers were there as well as Helen Case, the great grand daughter of J. I. Case the founder of the Case company.

The Stakrs picture was taken shortly after the traditional noon whistle blew. There was no doubt when noon was, because I think all 18 whistels blew at one time.

Done as accurately as my feeble mind can remember.

HI, the unidentified guy in the middle would be me. I had a great time meeting new people and seeing some old friends. This show gets better every year. Thanks Don for your work and info on my buzz coils. Hope to see you at Portland. Nathan

I'm a bit disappointed that I didn't make it to the show, but I had so much fun at Baraboo on Friday that I decided to stay there instead of making the 9+ hour trip from Baraboo to Pinckneyville. Really wanted to see the Rawleigh engine exhibit since I now have 16 Rawleigh built engines in my collection, but I guess I will have to wait for the big Rawleigh show in 2009. I believe that the big Case crossmotor might be a 40-72. Hope you guys all had fun, as well as safe journeys home. Thanks for the pictures. It was neat to see the 110 Case in the background of the Stakker photo !!!
