Default Fuel tank for 8HP whitte

While I was in OK. a couple of weeks ago I aquired a 8HP hit and miss Whitte. I'm looking for a fuel tank for it. Anyone have an extra? Does the tank go under the base of the engine or are they normally mounted on the outside? Do they have to be higher than the carb for a gravity feed or what. Can someone out there help with this info or at least point me in the right direction. I want the engine to be as close to original as possible.

What about a manuel or handbook?

Walt
