I just changed mine on a f150. i used the ball joint press that you can get from autozone. you buy it and after you return it they refund your money. they dont even charge you a rental fee. Its not to bad once yo figure out the combination of spacers. and its easyer if you take the wheel assy off the upper and lower at the same time. its easyer to get the press in there. I didnt take the lines off you just kinda hang it out of the way.
the upper joint they say they are left and rights and pricey. the cheapest i found was 50.00 upper and 30 lower. hope this helps

Well if everything isn't rusted into one homogenious glob it isn't too bad a job. Getting decent replacement ball joints is the hard part. Find greaseable ones and keep em well greased. Of course preferred option is to do a kingpin Dana 60 swap and never bother with ball joints again.

You are not comparing apples to oranges.IN that vintiage 150 and 250 are diffrent and then throw in 4x4 or not. no matter piece of cake as long as you have the right tools. less than a morning project for all four and alighn. Sorry to be sinical I do it all day long. The tools ar the main thing and a real good thing to at pic to now what your doing be fore you you do it.
