Chase 1/4 ton
Was at a local car show 2 weeks ago and saw this truck. Didn't see the owner around when I took the pictures so I couldn't get any info. Powered by a 2 cyl air cooled 2 stroke. Nice old locally built truck, first and only one I have ever seen. PT

Mroz's truck book says Chase was formed by Aurin Chase, once VP of the Syracuse Chilled Plow Co in 1907. Original engines were two, three and four cyl 2-cycle, but doesn't mention how cooled. Models grew larger, becomiing "conventional" in 1914 (4cyl Wauk and Cont), models ranging up to 31/2T by 1917, when prod ended. Beautiful example of one of the earlier ones.
