National cylinder gas welder,HELP!!!!


:shrug: Recently given a NCG model sgw201 welder/generater.Was running about a year ago,wont crank...

Default National cylinder gas welder,HELP!!!!

Recently given a NCG model sgw201 welder/generater.Was running about a year ago,wont crank now.Need info on parts,wiring diagrams,manuals and were to get this info.any help would be great.going to try to attach photos,hope it works

Looks identical to my craftsman welder! as I recall, the whole welder was made by onan

how did/do you crank yours?

Ask yout question on the Onan generator board. There are about three guys there that are EXPERTS in my opinion.

If you have a battery ignition and not a magneto ignition, the info in the below thread may help out. If it is a magneto system, the points would be the first place I would look.

If the engine won't crank, try cleaning / polishing the commutator with some scotchbrite. I have seen this on machines that have been setting for awhile.

That looks identical to my P&H welder.

I have a spare that is missing the brushes, and most of the engine.
