Default Splitdorf ss-6-2 (no spark)

I suspect that the coil is bad, but not knowing how it is wired internally I'm not sure how to test it. This coil has 2 spark output, there iscontunity across the primary winding and across the 2 hightension leeds, but is open between the primary and hightension coils. Is this coil bad? Or is there a better way to test?

I new at this but I do have Splitdorf coil unit for 2 cylinder auto engine.
To check coils you must use a volt ohm meter to measure resistance.
Resistance is measured in ohms, the primary coil should measure at 0.9 ohms and secondary or high voltage should measure at 3,900 ohms. These values may
not be the same other coils. One of my coil were bad and measured no resistance on the high voltage side. Coil is made up soft iron core primary coil using wax paper between, high voltage is two coils wired in series filled with red wax. I hope this helps.

Twin cylinder coils like this have no connection between the primary and secondary. Also you will NOT have spark from one spark plug lead to mag ground/case. The spark appears from plug wire to plug wire.

There is an illustrated parts list for this magneto on this page:
