I was just curious cuz i've been trying to make a video to put on here to show too, of a running engine. i think i have the basics down, go to youtube, make an account ect. ect. and i have this camera that makes movies, it's a Kodak digital camera model C613, so here i download the video on the kodak camera picture and video processor screen, but i cant seem to go any further then that
i mean, i go to youtube to download the movie to make it accesable to show to everyone but the thing is slower then molases on a 40 below winter day! when it goes to download the file movie on youtube...it gets to 50 percent download then it stops! it dont go anymore, and i've let it set for an hour even and still, zip, zero, nadda...i've been trying 1 min. 2 to min. movies thinking it would be simple enough and small enough to download sucesfully but i guess not.....am i missing something here for the reason why it wont download to youtube right or whut? i have a memory card thing in the camera....do i have to take that out and plug it into my computer here or whut? how do you do this...

Sky.....you can easily resize your videos with Windows MovieMaker.
BUT.......I'm guessing you are using a still camera to shoot these videos? If so they are most likely in Quicktime format. I don't know WHY most camera makers seem to use that format as they create HUGE files and the quality isn't "all that" either. If they are Quicktime you need a program to convert them to AVI which can then be edited in Moviemaker. AVI's are huge files too but you can easily shrink an AVI to 1/10, or less, its original size with little loss of quality. |

I may need you to describe that to me in "slow" form. lol
so i just take the movies from the camera and resize them in windows movie maker and if that dont work i do whut know? im sorry, im slow. lol to answer you, yes, it is a camera hand held thingymajig, well, it aint a video camera, camera, its a digital take pictures or video kind of camera, the pocket kind. works purdy good though!

Video formats are a bit of a nightmare, and while we have done small shots with our still cameras before, this year we bought a 'proper' Digicam DVD camera to take to Portland (Sony DCR DVD-404E)
The videos are great when viewed on the PC, and we have a few programmes that we bought to be able to edit the bloops out (yes, we all make them!) but YouTube was a BIG disappointment, both on the resulting poor quality and the restrictions on file sizes. AVI format is one that is accepted by Youtube, and that is what we converted ours to, but the videos we put up were nowhere near as good as the ones we had on the PC, and a lot of people have had the same problem. Seems that the compression techniques that Youtube use end up killing the picture quality. We won't be putting any more up until they get their act together on quality. Peter |
