Blacksmith's cast iron cone?


I have a 4' tall cast iron cone that i bought out of a yard painted green used a Christmas tree...

Default Blacksmith's cast iron cone?

I have a 4' tall cast iron cone that i bought out of a yard painted green used a Christmas tree decoration that i was told later it was a blacksmith tool. Does it have any value? thanks, darrell

You have a pretty sought after blacksmith tool there. I'd wanted one for several years before I found one. I've watched them sell on eBay anywhere from $300 to $700. Some might even bring more if it has a tong groove down one side, or any other special features to make it unique.

You have what is know as a horn madrel, used in making rings and ect.They came in several different sizes.I am sure that you have a Blacksmithing group in your area.Get on the computer and look them up, and you will have a ready market.
