Cool Cool Windmill model find at one of my favorite places to go.

Two weeks ago I found this neat (Jensen?) steam driven windmill and pump that is 25" tall. It was missing the tail, but I have a photo of what one looks like and can scale it up. At least it has the "FAN" and pump intact , and with a bit of TLC it will clean up nice . Might just have to go back to work for a "BREAK" . I'm having to much fun, even in NJ

Paul, I'm not sure, but I'd bet on that being an Empire. Now find a nice Empire engine to go with it and you have a new light weight collection started.

It was raining most of the day so I pulled out the Jensen windmill and made a tail for it . I scaled it from a photo I had. After cutting, punching, rolling, bending and filing, here it is . It came out pretty good. I might shorten up the tail a bit so it looks better. What do you think .

Looks cool Paul. I think it would look better if the tail was trimed. Dick in the Finger Lake Region of NYS.

Paul,
Alan is right. That's an Empire windmill. Jensen never made a windmill like that. I have a collection of Empire and Jensen engines that my wife lets me keep in the house. The little pump on the base should pump water if it's working right. That was a good find. Those windmills can get pretty pricey on eBay sometimes.

Dicki: After I got done scaling it from a photo I had. It looks like it should on the model as made, BUT... it just doesn't look quite right as far as windmill tails go . I probably will taper the tail a bit and change the end of the tail angle closer to 45 degrees. It won't be original looking , but I think it will look much better .

Mike, Before I do I need a better side view of the tail. THANKS

Well. I looked at some windmill tails and made some minor changes .It sure looks better. Now to get some red paint and letter the tail with an EMPIRE signature .
