Default Onan 6BJD With Magiciter

Hi am new to post I've read several post on onan generators and have found some really good info, my question or problem is as I was pulling the rear cover off my gen set I broke one of the brushes, is this part still avalable? or have I screwed up, help in florida. Exciter # SX1N 1B from what I have read in the posts this unit has a Magciter stator control unit serial # 85C839166 and the model # 6DJB-3E2236/1H. Thanks

Found brushes same diamentions will have to solder lead to contact now I need to find rectifier 305-0239 checked the stator and fields and found good check reactor gates and voltage control and resistors in mag all good also need to find engine parts the little engine just needs cleaned and resealed does anyone know how to find parts for these old units Thanks Phil

You can still get those brushes from Onan. They are proud of them but they do have them, well they did 2 months ago when I needed a set for a customers machine.

How about the rectifier diodes part # 305-0239 ? I called the locale onan dealer but there closed for the hollidays I'll try them Monday Thanks for the info.

I have a 15kW MDJF with this magiciter inside, and it is poorly corroded after sitting for several years. It does have 4 carbon brushes on the rotor.
Can it be replaced with an electronic voltage regulator, like later AA spec models (part# 300-1540)? If so, it'd save me a lot of money and time.

Before you purchase any parts for your genset you should test all the componets in the magiciter because if one of the coils is open or shorted you will be money ahead to purchase the new electronic regulator, I do not know how to get this part but I know there are there are serveral folks on this site who do.
