Default Military 1.5 kw generator

I have a 2A016-3, 2 cyl, 3 hp engine on the generator. The problem is it will start then die wit fuel comming out of the throttle control housing cover. I removed the cover it will stay running but fuel is gushing out of the throttle control housing. Can anyone tell me what is going on here or point me in the correct direction.
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like the Float Bowl Needle Valve in the Carburetor is stuck open, and flooding
out the carburetor air intake. May need to rebuild it, or at least clean it up a bit.

floats usually have some means of limiting the drop.
too far of a drop and the needle jams in the open position
often just a little tweek and it is good to go

The floats on these Military Standard Engines are made of CORK. Be catful when you disassemble the carb. Also check the fuel pump to be sure it is not leaking into the crankcase.

Thanks for the help guys. one more thing the fuel that was comming out of the throttle control housing almost looked like it was comming up from the hose that covers the throttle linkage. Was I just seeing things or could that be possible.

Checked oil last night it is full of fuel. Is getting a new fuel pump the best way to resolve the problem or can you make a new seal for it easlly.

Look for a rebuild kit or switch to an electric low pressure pump.

An electric fuel pump is not an option on the genset as there is no DC electrical system.
