Height, width, and weight of a load are the three things a trucker needs to know when you're talking to him on the phone.
You say "tractor", what are you looking at? If it's a smaller tractor, like a JD A or Farmall M, they can be tucked onto just about any flatbed that has less than a full load, weightwise. Bigger stuff like steamers takes specialized equipment. |

There are several sites you can use online. One is uship.com. List what you have, where it is, and where you want it to go. Folks in the hauling business frequent these sites looking for backhauls or loads to avoid running empty. Use caution, pay on delivery, etc. Good luck!

Locate a brokerage firm that handles LTL flatbed freight. They will set you up with a trucker. You will pay the broker and he will deduct his percentage and pay the truck.
Stop by a local truckstop and talk to flatbed drivers to see which firms do the best job. |
