Friend Alan King passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. He will be missed

Alan C. King

Alan C. King, 69, of Delaware, died Sunday afternoon (Feb. 3, 2008) at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Arrangements will be announced in Tuesday’s Gazette by Rodman Neeper Funeral Home & Crematory, Bennett Brown Delaware Chapel.

I always enjoyed Mr King's books and identifyed a lot of engines etc, with them. I for one am glad he chose to direct his tallents to our hobby. I am shure he will be missed.

My condolences to the family and friends! I have several book that were written by Alan and his contribution to our hobby will be missed.

Bummer........sorry to hear that.

Some years ago I was looking for a copy of the Hart Parr Data book he did and I wound up calling him .
I asked if he had any copies left, which he did but in VERY short supply, and he REALLY wanted to keep the few he had left.
Long story short, a little grovelling goes a long way and I got the book....... .......and always will have it.
