Default Unknown engine

I saw a truck load of scrap metal a couple of days ago. Sitting on the rear in plain site was an old flat head six cylinder engine with the name "Spitfire" cast into the top of the head. I was just wondering who made it ??

It's probably a Chrysler product. They made a Spitfire flathead six
