Default US Army Signal Corps Generator-Information , Any Value??

Hello,

I am in the process of moving and am cleaning out the garage. I have a small Signal Corps power unit. The model # is PE-77-D. The ratings are 250 watts- 115 volts- 2700 RPM. It is attached to a Briggs and Stratton engine. The info on the engine is: Model- l ; Type- 206103 ; Serial- 105725. I had this running a couple of years ago and it did produce electricity. As far as I know the only thing it needs is a new glass bowl for the fuel.

Can anyone give me some information on this unit or if it has any value? I am needing to get rid of it. I can take some pictures if it would help. I am located in central Indiana.

Thank you.

The serial number indicates it was made in April 1944. The RPM leads me to think it is belt driven. I have a son North of Indy and I am interested in it.

This is a little d.c. unit. with generator attached directly to the crankshaft via a taper fit.

I have two of them but don't have the original carrying cases.

I have collected a number of items to run on it, mostly a.c./d.c. or universal stuff, to have something to run from them. Of course, a.c. light bulbs work just fine.

I also have a 110d.c. to 120a.c. Pincor motor-generator and an ATR 110 d.c. to 110 a.c. vibrator type inverter. Both of these are low output but potentially give me more to "run" with these little gensets.

Nice little units but d.c., not a.c., hence the r.p.m.
