The 60 case is back on ebay and he wants a 130,000.00 he just out of his mind # 130224211241. I am thinking something like 20,000.00 is just about the right $$$$$ iam thinking that hes just going to keep this engine for a long time if he add's a lot of water and it grows in to a 110 he just may get what he wants !

out of pure curiosty i called him a few minutes ago... i asked him if it was a mistype or something, he flat out told me if i didnt like the price quit looking at it.. nice guy. HA. gets better, he says hes never operated it but has owned it for several years, 3 of the flues have been puttyed in, the crown sheet needs replaced and the grates are good. kinda odd to me...

and he also informed me that he has seen them sell for 110,000- 175,000 bucks... now i think this guy seems to be an idiot. no offense to anyone.. but the real idiot is the one who buys it..

the guy also said hes having a boiler inspection done in a month... and the boiler also needs a few stay bolts and rivets.. laides and gents.. i dont think it will pass....

im not a professional but... this is stupid. plain flat out stupid.

I think the seller needs a good whack with that "original" coal shovel to bring him back to reality.....

While I agree that this sale is quite illogical, think of it this way:

Should the engine sell for such a price (or even close to it), consider the amount of ebay fees he is paying as well as the capital gains tax that the feds will be asking for.

2 Logic Challenged Individuals Shall Meet.

The boiler inspection just might include one of those pretty red tags.......

I have said the same thing about listing fees as you all have, if noone buys it the first time for that you lost alot of money to ebay. He must have paid too much for it, its far from restored unless you want to call it that with a spray can restoration

I dont know here, ill admit, but he's probably just a new guy with maybee a few years of steam knowlage, i have no steam knowlage, but he's probably just like alot of us, how we started out....thinkin oh thats got to be worth thousand...intell we started getting serious into iron and more seasoned...happens to the best of us...intell he gets more price experience...thats what he's gonna ask.....inless there just plain...is stubborn the word?

and i just bet you some smart a$$ scammer is gonna find a way to post this again...and again...and again....to see who they rip off....before someone catches onto them again....just like that julien scam a while back.

It only costs $4 to list an item with a price of more than $500.
The fees only add up if it actually sells, which it wont. $4 for the amount of advertising it gets is pretty cheap. However, that doesn't excuse the fact that the guy seems to be an idiot.

This guy just wont give up he really needs to give up the dope and come back to earth .He's got the case back on ebay and he come down in price he's at 100,000.00 he's nuts this is NOT a 110 and if this engine were at fine running order i believe it would only be worth 15 to 20,000.00 one thing tho he's headed in the right direction with the price down down down!

...maybe in this case (no pun intended....), if we ignore him & provide no additional attention, he will get the hint?

Just a theory since he has received such attention via these posts.
