Default Another Homelite Aircraft APU

I picked up an old model KS-15075 "Engine Alternator" 1.5KW Genset. It's 115V and even came with a power cord that has a connector that plugs into one of the three factory outlets. The Homelite tag calls it model 13A115-17

Insides look good too:

Next step is to flush out the fuel tank, look for the lube points and give it a shot.

Oh, if anyone has a spare cover plate for that bottom part of the alternator end, I'd like to buy it.

I saw the posts before with different views on the weight of oil needed, this one clearly calls for 30wt.

Hi, I have an Identical generator same model and everything. the only difference is that mine has a standard wall plug on the bottom panel below the large outlet. the engine was seized up on mine and i'm giving it an entire Rebuild/Restoration. if you know where to get crankrod bearings, plz let me know!

Only problem with mine so far is that the fuel shut-off is rusted in the on position. Once you've removed the gas tank I'd appreciate any pointers on its removal.

I have no info on the bearings, sorry. Probably best to remove them and take them somewhere.

to get the gas tank off, you need to take the genset off the springs and baseplate. then you need to remove the carb with those two bolts that attatch to the engine, and just lift it out.
as forthe fuel valve, just loosen it with a wrench. mine was stuck too so it should work. Email me if you need any more help. Mr.Studz@yahoo.com

I just honed out the cylinder and once I put a new gasket on the head, it'll be ready to run. I just need to pick up some AVgas, and then i'll give it a shot. Could you get a picture of the choke knob for me? mine is missing one and i need to replace it.

Any updates? I've been soaking my shut-off in penetrant for a month and it moves about 1/8 turn now. Is that correct? I was assuming it was a 1/4 turn ball type valve. Also, what position is on vs. off?

Avgas? I was going to get some high-octane gas. I think my label says 90 octane or higher.

I managed to get the fuel shut-off freed up. Only thing left before starting it (or at least trying to) is the fuel filter. I removed it and the filter material was basically dust. What should I use to replace it? Some t-shirt material? This is the kind of filter with a metal mesh-like plug covered in some (now gone) material then wrapped in wire to keep the filter in place.

Thanks,
Tad

There is guy selling some parts for a similar unit on eBay, right now. He is offering a cylinder, a cylinder cooling shroud, an ammeter, etc.

While he may not be currently selling the parts you need and his unit may differ from yours in other respects, you might email him and see if he has something you're looking for.

Don't wait around to look, though. The auctions will close before you know it.

(I have NO connection with the auction or seller.)
