Default Big ol' 25KW diesel mil genset info...

I have a big ol' vintage 1944 25KW rated 1,200 RPM 6 pole 3 phase 240V delta skid mounted ex-mil genset.

It has an International UD-9 diesel engine (very interesting engine) which I have the service manual for, but I do not have any documentation for the rest of the unit.

The unit is some distance from me at the moment, so I don't have all the numbers handy unfortunately. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about these units and/or where I can find more documentation.

Thanks,

Pete C.

You might ask the Moderator to move this thread over to the Military
Generator Forum, in the Motor & Generator Section, as it would get more
play over there, I believe.

I'm pretty sure its a Kato gen end. Do you have the voltage regulator? Here is a number for Kato. It is possible that they will still have documentation for the generator. 501-625-4011

The area code may be 507 or 501 I can't read my hand writing.

I used to have a 1200 RPM Kato Gen end but I didn't have a the voltage regulator and I couldn't figure out another way to regulate the voltage.

The Signal Corps PE-85-M is powered by the UD-9 engine as you describe directly driving a Continental Electric S-105-X AC generator 3 phase 3 wire 2 bearing unit. Total weight crated 5400 lbs. Skid mounting with open frame. Technical Manual TM 11-916-M. (1945 information)
