Default Waukesha VRD-220

I would like to know the HP of this engine.

I am thinking of putting a generator head behind it or trade for one that runs on LP or natural gas. It is out of a forklift and starts and runs very good, is complete and ready with an SAE flywheel housing, all the wiring, etc.

Its essentially the same as a VRG 220 waukesha. Arrow makes all the parts you would need to convert it to nat gas. These have made a bigtime comback in the oilfiled running gas coolers.

I was sure I had a VRD/G manual here, but all I can lay my hands on are parts books, and they don't include a 220.
I'm not familiar with these later manuals, don't know if they have HP curves, but will eyeball it if I see it.
Was the 220 a later engine?? (the 73 books cover 232 to 310, the 75 covers 155 and 232 to 310, but no 220).

Joe, In 1985 the listed rating for the VRD-220 was: 63 HP intermittant or 56 continuous @ 2200 RPM it was also available turbocharged as VRD-220S 81HP intermittant or 73 continuous @ 2200 RPM.
The gas VRG-220 drops to 53 intermittant @ 2200 and 45 continuous @1800

I think Arrow now sells that engine as the A-42, 42 hp.

Joe, if you need a parts manual or a maintenance manual, pm me. I have both.

A little bit of an update for you. I am in a Waukesha factory school this week. Waukesha sold the engine lock, stock and barrel to Arrow. Arrow is now the supporting "OEM" of the VR series engines.
