Default Craftsman 3200 generator

I have this generator that starts and runs and will run certain electric loads but if a bigger load is applied the engine regulator won't kick in so it just shakes alot and then dies, does anyone have any info to what this could be. I don't know how the accelerator arm works at all(if it is called that).

Can you provide more information as to what loads it will run and what you were trying to use when it failed? Did the engine die or just stop making AC? I am going to guess that it will not handle a large motor type start load. Many motors require quite a large surge current during the start process and many generators cannot handle it. Are the loads that are failing now ever able to work in the past with this generator? Don

Are you calling the engine govener the engine regulator? If so it sounds as if the govener is not adjusted right causing you problem. I Assume your engine is a Tecumseh.
