Kohler generator fuel pump

I recently purchased a Kohler 1 1/2 Kw four cylinder electric generator set. The plant was built in 1948. There is a place for a lever actuated fuel pump on the end of the engine with the hand crank that is blanked off. Does anybody know where or if fuel pumps for these Kohler engines are available anywhere? They look like a typical automotive fuel pump.

Have you tried Kohler? They're still in business. I've never tried ordering from them, but do know they still sell the operating manual for these engines. They cost $40. That's why so many folks wind up getting copies of it.
