I have a Generac Ultra Source 15k generator with a small spin on oil filter It is powered by 992 cc Generac OHVI V-Twin engine . I have found an adaptor plate that will allow the use of a remote oil filter with a larger element. My question does this machine have enough oil pressure to run a larger remote filter? thanks

I would think a larger filter would be less restrictive than a smaller one. Just more surface area, a little more oil and a little extra cooling effect. All three a plus in my book. The replacement filter needs to be same type (example: by-pass).
You might Tee in a temporary pressure gage on the input, and then move it to the output line and compare the readings. I would guess a delta of few PSI would be normal. Later Sbw |
