Question Diagonal Head Bolt Spacing

Hello, my name is Michael Byrd. I have recently purchased
a Jkson (PowerSolutions) 6 HP single cylinder diesel engine.
Although I have not recieved it yet, I was hoping someone could post the diagonal head bolt dimensions so I can get a lifting bar made. I want to use 2 head bolts to lift by and a
bar would be easy for me to make. I know some Indian
mfg vary from one to the other so I need this dimension
from a Jkson (PowerSolution) 6 HP. I prefer a bar over a chain because of the bar being so rigid and acting like a spreader bar keeping the lifting force axial to the bolts.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Default Re: Diagonal Head Bolt Spacing

I just measured my Vidhata and the spacing is 7 15/16" diagonally, stud diameter is about 3/4". Note that the rocker arm assembly would prevent you from using a straight bar, however it's only held on by two bolts..easily removed and replaced (check clearances after reassembling). As an alternative, you could make up two heavy "eyes" from at least 1/4" x 2" x 4" steel. Drill a 15/16" hole in each end, heat and bend to 90 degrees (L shaped). Remove stud nuts (28mm), install the eye and replace the nuts giving you two lifting points. The cylinder head would serve as the spreader. Remember to retorque to 160-170 ft. lbs. afterwards (takes a BIG torque wrench). Lifting by the head studs is probably the easiest and safest way.
