Here is a picture from my collection of a home made tractor from long time ago. Early row crop tractor? Looks like they used a 2 cylinder 1910 Heer engine. Notice the tray cooling. Sure would not work very well going over uneven fields. Possibly used for a self propelled power unit. Has chain drive to both rear wheels. Looks to very nicely built.

Here is my version of a home made tractor that i built in the winter of 2006-2007. This picture was taken at Heritage Park this year. The driver is Jeff Lunds youngest son.Not sure what his name is.He had alot of fun driving it around.

First two pics are from Pontiac this year. Built around a Galloway, one of the best I've seen. Next two pics are of mine in its current state. Just about done...

i used a gearbox that came out of a rodding machine that was used for cleaning sewers. Here is a pic of it.That thing is so easy to use.You just push the lever forward to go forword and pull it back to back up. That is hooked up to a 3 speed trans. Thanks Rob |

Built this for my son kirby last winter. It has a cast iron rear axle like the one above from a wards mower. The engine is a maytag 92,and the hood is a real jd b, that was smashed. I cut it down and made a new grill for it,then cut it out for the engine. It's not fast but he likes it!

I planned to use a hercules clutch pulley, but since I can't fined one that's for sale, I'm considering other options.

I built one with a 4 speed garden tractor trans, a cut down IHC horse forecart front end, IHC mower wheels an an IHC LA engine... It's styled after a heavyweight Oil Pull -- It won "Best of Show" about a dozen or so years ago at the county fair as a "recycling project"
About 30 years ago my dad and grandpap built "George".. Looks kind of like a regular garden tractor, except it has an Army surplus 2 cylinder Wisconsin, Vdub clutch, Chevy toploader 4 speed and a narrowed Plymouth 8-3/4" rear end. |

I finally got around to pretty much finishing my model 8N Ford tractor and farm wagon, I used a craftsman riding mower for the running gear, and used an old riding mower front axle for the wagon so it would have the tie rod steering. I just need to add some black verticle stripes on the grille to make it look louvered.

Nice 8N. I spent many hours on an 8N in the '70s. Smooth like a car.
