Hi My pump jack Monitor uses high tension model t coil and a wiper strap that wipes on pins on the camshaft to make the breaker for timing.Works well.

Some Monitors used buzz coil , some used a Wico E.K. magneto. the majority I have seen were buzz coil ignition.

Tag is usually on top of the gas tank. I will try to get the info that I promised out to you soon.

Can the age of a Monitor be determined by how they are built? My monitor has a lubricator, does not have a dip stick to check the oil or a guard on the gears and I don't have pins to trip the buzz coil, I have a cam with lobes. The serial number on the cylinder shows it built in 1937. I have seen other Monitors with lower serial numbers that have all the above mentioned items Can anyone shed some light on this?
