No tag on it but there is a logo casted into the side of it. ![]() Pictures of the rest of the engine. http://www.geocities.com/wcapc_1/dadengine.html Guessing it is a boat engine or a generator engine. |

While that engine has some resemblence to my Saxon/Continintal engine it has a lot that doesn't look like it. Maybe it's a Waukasha. It kinda looks like one I saw in a train speeder. Everybody knows the "S" stands for Saw.

What about the other 2 letters inside the S? The one on top looks like an F or E and on the bottom it looks like Co. for company.

Hi...
I have seen this same logo on several different pieces of equipment over the years. I have always thought that it might be the mark of a foundry that was making castings for several different companies. The attached pictures show an Ingersoll-Rand compressor with the same mark on it. I don't remember if the mark was on the engine or the compressor. Regards, Larry Evans |

Several years ago I saw one of those compressors and if memory serves, it had a Buda engine in it.

The engine looks a lot like a Universal Motor Co. Oshkosh, WI. The four cylinder stationary version of the marine engine. I would guess around 1919 for the year.
I apologize for using someone else's photograph in this post without giving them credit for it. The picture is something that I saved from the Internet for reference and do not know where it came from anymore. I hope this helps. Mark S |

I just bought a logging winch powered by a 2 cyl LeRoi engine. It has the same logo cast into the head and block. Could it be a LeRoi engine, or is it a foundry logo?
