Default Reeves Serial No.

I have a Reeves with a 4" bore x 6" stroke. What H.P. is it and where do I find the serial numbers? Did this engine come with a brass tag?

Thanks,

Hi Jerry,

A 4in.bore with a 6 in. stroke should be about 2 1/2 hp. at around 450 rpm.A Reeves may be rated more or less from that equation.I have no exact information on a Reeves, but that should get you in the ballpark.

Jerry, Your engine is a 2 HP. They made 1, 2,3 HP sizes but not 2 1/2. I have never found a serial no. anywhere on a Reeves other than the brass tag which mounted on the front of the hopper. The serial no. would range between 3000-6000. Let me know if I can be of any further help, I am just up the road from you about 150 miles. Check out my Web page on Reeves if interested. Mike

Hi Mike,

Is the 2hp rating at 450 rpm?

Ed, the 2 HP rated speed was 525. 1 HP was 600; 3 HP was 460; 4 HP was 400; 6 HP was 380; 8 HP was 350 and 12 HP was 310. The flywheel diameter for the 2 HP is 18 1/2 inches. Mike
