Default I need help in getting started 65hp Case

Hello my name is Matthew this is my first post. When I was a kid my dad used to take me to steam tractor shows all the time he had a friend with a 1/4 scale 65hp case tractor and we used to get there early in the morning to help him get it cleaned up and ready to go he used to let me stoke the fire and opperate the engine it was a lot of fun for a kid but I did not pay much attention as to how it really worked any ways to the point now that I am older 30 I would like to build one myself I have 3 kids and think it would be a great part of history for them to see and live . so my question is where do I get started where can I find plans where can I find castings I can machine anything I have access to dads shop . I live in Louisville Ky. we used to be members of the Kentuckianna pioneer power association. thanks in anvance for any help

I have the blueprint set but do not have the castings. I would have to check to see if I know where there is a set of 1/4 castings (1/4 scale casting sets are not advertised any longer). Can you give me a phone number or email address so that we can chat.

Thanks

I think that Aaron still has his patterns. I know where there are other sets of 1/4 scale Case patterns.

ill look and see at the old frizen place there some wheels there look like some of the oldcase steam tractor wheels they got cross lugs everything overthere is horse drawn machines the wheels are about 4 1/2 to 5 feet tall, foot and half wide i guess you could use them for the back , there probley 300lb each though, ,cost alot to ship i think they cam off the corn cutter, it was a 3 or 4 roll cutter, if you start getting all the parts found you could start planning, 65hp big one , i was thinking i would build something like that but i just dont have the time to many things now, i was thinking old hit miss and a smok stak in front, would look cool, well good luck, lots of piece to fine yet, that the fun of it , then the hard work starts,

Yup, 36" will be dead on for a half 65 CASE. They are a tad narrow (9" versus 11" for a half scale) but should work fine.

I have a complete set of 1/4 scale castings. They are old Turning castings. I would be happy to let them go, if we could establish a honest fair correct price. No machining has been done. I also have the wheels rolled or cut and a few other stock items. Nothing for the boiler. I will send a PM and I appreciate help with the pricing if anyone can. I will be making a visit to Virginia in 2 weeks if that helps, (after thanksgiving).

regards
peter

Not had any luck on getting a reply from my email or telephone messages from hmanmt. Looks like this the tread just died. Anyways....

I still have a full set of 1/4 case castings and some extras such as stock cut for wheels, full set of grousers. Looking for a home.
