Bill: I look at a lot of 60's Pontiac stuff , but, I didn't see it as I look for mostly big body cars and stuff. I looked at the ended auctions and I found it. eBay Item number: 110306170567. A neat piece of Pontiac racing history and lots of information provided in the eBay Q & A.

Considering what it sold for I'm guessing the new owner has a real good paying job. It would be interesting to see what the total will be after it is restored.

The car is one of 6 coupes modified by pontiac with a 421 engine and special driveline. One other surviving car was known before this one.

The other one is restored. It was offered on auction earlier this year. I'll have to look for the results to be sure but I think $675,000.

I have a liking of 1963 Pontiac fullsized cars and have 1963 Pontiac as a saved search on Ebay. I looked at the listing for this car when it was about $1500. At that time there was a $4000 buy it now. I looked at the photos the seller had on another listing as "worthless photos". Not all the photos that were on there later were there then.

I saw enough I thought it was worth taking a chance but when I returned to the main listing the buy it now was gone. Sat back and waited to see what happened. He had 2000 hits before he removed the buy it now option. If I would have seen it 10 minutes sooner I would have it or maybe be in a lawsuit now.

Jay Leno was mentioned as a bidder at one point, maybe the new owner.

Just another woulda-coulda-shoulda now.

I did some looking for the sale pricing. Google shows a reference to the coupe selling for $588,000. Found a auction where the coupe and the surviving wagon were offered as a pair in oct 2007, no sale at $925.000.
