Default Introduction of new user...

Didn't see an intro area so if there is and i missed it i apologise.

Hi all,
My name is Sean and I'm an arnaholic(addicted to old iron). My main interests are blacksmithing, machining and metal work, and some woodworking( mainly have been restoring old woodworking machines). i have always been fascinated by the old engines but due to space restrictions i will probably not have the chance to have one( mainly because of my lathe and mill and blacksmithing equip) but i can always read on this forum and drool . I am currently on Practical machinist, Iforgeiron, and OWWN.org( so some of you might know me by some other name).I have been lurking for a few months as a guest but figured i'd join and go on back to lurking

Sean

Sean
welcome and these forums are jsut he right place to cure your sickness of old iron when the shop is to dark cold and you are just at witts end or showing off your handy work
I have made many friends to whom i never met coz not many into old iron around here were i live
so welcome and feel free to join in anywhere
Harry has started something great and well worth it
The only bad thing is these pages have a few bad apples jsut like everywhere else but 99% of the folks here are honest true hard working guys who have a common interest in rusty old iron
so again welcome and join the fun

Thumbs up Re: Introduction of new user...

Welcome aboard. If you ever get your first engine you'll have several before you realize it and no room to walk in the shop. Life is good.

Welcome, come on in and sit a spell. Please no drooling over the pictures though, old iron tends to rust.

Didn't know there was a thread for us Newbie's....

I just signed up a few days ago so I could respond to one Post, but then ended up responding to about 6 of them so far.
Just what I needed..... another addiction to go along with the ironitis !

Don't know if it's possible to change user ID on here or not, but after looking at it a few times I don't know know if mine would make sense to anyone else or not.

I'm on eBay as otto-dude due to being the current owner and caretaker of the 1/3-1/2 scale 1905 OTTO tractor that my dad built back in 1972, and I registered on You-Tube as oldSawyer because of maintaining and running the Sawmill at the Threshing Show in Freeport Illinois.

At the time, when I registered here it seemed natural to combine the two, but now I'm not so sure. Anyway, I'm here now.

Welcome aboard guys. I guess I have another collector bidding against me at Lancaster auctions. Or, someone to lean on for blacksmith/machining stuff.

Welcome aboard mate! Glad to have your expertise available for us to pick your brain now and then.
Remember, one or two engines are a hobby, ten or more is an obsession! More than one hundred is insanity! lol
don't be afraid to ask questions, we will help you if we can.
Nice to meet ya!

Actually there ISN'T a formal place for newbies to introduce themselves.......
Then again this is the engine forum so I'm gonna move this to Smoke, Flames & Gas (Off Topic) where, hopefully, others will use this thread to introduce yourselves........which JUST gave me an idea.......

Let us know what you come up with. I had several people refer me to this site, but didn't spend much time looking at it other than when someone told me to look at something specific.
I think I may have actually helped one person so far in my short time here with a question on lowering compression. Got a thanks from him anyway.
